HECO to airlift crews, equipment into Manoa Valley

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Company will be using a helicopter to airlift work crews and equipment in Manoa on Thursday.

A helicopter will be used because the work sites are inaccessible by other means.

At about 8:30 a.m., weather permitting, a contractor working for Hawaiian Electric will fly equipment to locations in the back of Manoa Valley. The flights will continue intermittently throughout the day and will end at about 3 p.m.

In compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and Hawaiian Electric's safety practices, the helicopter will not fly over residential or populated areas while carrying loads.
