Mililani student honored for diabetes efforts

Kyle Monette, 17, who attends Mililani High School, was chosen from nearly 1,000 nominations as one of 2007 Nestle Very Best in Youth honorees."Kids Helping Kids With Diabetes," the program he started after seeing that no schools participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual walkathon, involved 13 middle and high schools; last year, 357 walkers participated, raising more than $10,000.
