Haliimaile brushfire on Maui under control

A brushfire today at Hali'imaile, Maui, that came within 20-30 feet of homes was declared under control at 6:30 p.m., according to a county official.Spokeswoman Mahina Martin said the brushfire burned five acres and a shack.
The fire which started at 3:17 p.m. threatened six to eight homes and forced the evacuation of some residents. All families who evacuated were back in their homes by early evening. Martin said.
