Three Kauai resorts garner honeymoon honors

Advertiser Staff

Three hotel resorts on Kauai — the Hanalei Colony Resort, the Sheraton Kauai Resort and the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa — earned recognition in the Honeymooner's Review Guide.

The three resorts are listed on the honeymoon planning Web site's new Honeymooner's Choice Award, which lists the best hotels, resorts and cruises providing excellence and value.

The Honeymoon Choice Award is based on honeymoon couples' ratings of the hotel, staff research and on-site inspection by one of Honeymooner's Review Guide's trained professionals. Awards are made in the categories of Best Honeymoon Hotels, Best Romantic Hotels, Best Honeymoon Affordable Hotels, Best Hidden Gems, Best Destination Wedding Hotels and Best Honeymoon Cruise Ships.

The Hanalei Colony Resort was selected Best Hidden Gem Hotel in part for its ocean suites with breathtaking views only feet from the beach, its romantic and secluded location on the far north shore, its on-site professional destination wedding coordinator and its beach and ocean view wedding ceremony sites.

The Sheraton Kauai Resort was chosen Best Destination Wedding in part for its great suites with spectacular ocean views, exemplary destination wedding program and packages, outstanding beach and ocean wedding venues, and a great location on Poipu Beach.

The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa won its Award as the Best Honeymoon Hotel partially based upon its appointed rooms, many with great ocean views, superior resort and room amenities, gorgeous grounds with waterfalls and terrific views of the Kauai coastline. Award recipients receive special mention on Honeymooner's Review Guide's honeymoon planning and travel Web site, www.honeymoonersreviewguide.com.

Ratings and reviews by honeymoon couples are listed on the Web site.
