Sakamoto tied for ninth, Park tied for 16th

Kalani High School senior Nicole Sakamoto shot an 8-over 80 and is tied for ninth after today's first round of the Valero Texas Open Junior Shootout in San Antonio.Sakamoto parred nine holes and had one birdie. Leader Felicia Espericueta of Texas opened with an 1-over 73.
In the boys division, Waiakea junior Henry Park shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 16th at the San Antonio Country Club. Park parred 10 holes and had three birdies.
Robert Mayo of Texas leads after shooting a 4-under 68.
