President's Volunteer Service award now in Hawaii

Advertiser Staff

The unsung heros of the Hawaiian Islands will soon be getting some much deserved recognition and credit.

Ed Kubo, the U.S. Attorney for Hawaii, announced yesterday that his office has become a certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award, a national program recognizing Americans who excel in community service.

The office will verify service hours, nominate potential recipients and deliver the award to nominees.

For more information on nominating a volunteer for the award, contact Gervin Miyamoto at 541-2850. To learn more about the award, visit www.presidentialserviceawards.gov or call (866) 545-5307.
