Maui crews control Haliimaile brushfire flare-up

Maui fire officials reported this afternoon that a brushfire that burned an estimated 5 acres in Haliimaile flared up shortly before noon.The flare-up was placed under control at 12:41 pm by fire crews. The fire department's Air One helicopter and two engines were dispatched to the scene.
No homes were damaged.
Initial reports indicated that the fire involved brush and trees.
