Service for Hawaii philantropist Loo is Sunday

Advertiser Staff

Services for recently retired Morgan Stanley executive director and philanthropist Paul C.T. Loo will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew's Cathedral, 229 Queen Emma Square.

Loo, 75, a Punchbowl resident, died June 24 while on a family trip to Edinburgh, Scotland.

He spent 47 years with Morgan Stanley's Honolulu office, co-founded what is now Hawai'i Pacific University, and is a former Chaminade University regent.

The service will be performed by the Rev. Liz Zivanov, rector of St. Clement's Episcopal Church.

Family requests no flowers. Donations may be made in memory of Loo to Hawai'i Pacific University, Chaminade University, St. Clement's Episcopal Church or The Contemporay Museum.

A reception will follow the service.

Loo is survived by wife Violet, son Rodney, of San Francisco; daughter Pamela Loo Mayer, of Los Angeles; and five grandchildren.
