Japan company, AT&T to build Hawaii phone network

Japan's NTT DoCoMo Inc. today announced plans to partner with AT&T Mobility LLC to build a $24 million third-generation mobile phone network in Hawai'i.New services based on the network will begin on O'ahu by the end of this year with coverage expanding to the rest of the state by early next year.
Under the agreement AT&T plans to build the next-generation network, while DoCoMo will provide customers traveling to Hawai'i from Japan with enhanced mobile services.
