Boy, 17, charged as adult in Honolulu stabbing

A 17-year-old Kalihi boy was charged as an adult today with attempted second-degree murder after Family Court waived jurisdiction over him.

Precise Scottson Andon is being held in lieu of $50,000. He is charged by complaint with stabbing a 32-year-old man several times at 8:49 p.m. April 12 at Thomas Square.

Andon was scheduled for an initial appearance in District Court tomorrow.

He was arrested yesterday at 10 a.m. at Circuit Court after the Family Court action and charged at 2:30 p.m.

Family Court's jurisdiction in criminal cases extends to youths younger than 18. A state law passed in 1997 allows for juveniles younger than 16 to be tried as adults in serious felony cases.
