Langley Ukulele Ensemble plans Waikiki shows

WAIKIKI BEACH, O'AHU — For the Starwood family, summer signals the anticipated reunion of The Langley Ukulele Ensemble from British Columbia to its home away from home in Waikiki. The group is celebrating its 14th anniversary at the Sheraton Waikiki, playing free concerts in the lobby from July 13-19. In addition, musicians from The Langley Ukulele Ensemble will offer complimentary ukulele lessons. All concerts and ukulele lessons are free and open to the general public.

Free concert schedule:

  • July 13, 8:30–9:30 p.m. – Sheraton Waikiki, Hotel Lobby

  • July 16, 8:30-9:30 p.m. – Sheraton Waikiki, Hotel Lobby

  • July 17, 8:30-9:30 p.m. – Sheraton Waikiki, Hotel Lobby

  • July 18, 8:30-9:30 p.m. – Sheraton Waikiki, Hotel Lobby

  • July 19, 8:30-9:30 p.m. – Sheraton Waikiki, Hotel Lobby

    Complimentary ukulele lessons:

    The brainchild of Director Peter Luongo, The Langley Ukulele Ensemble celebrates its 26th year as musical ambassadors for Canada, British Columbia, Langley, as well as for youth. The 23 members in the ensemble range from 12 – 22 years and perform as many as 80 concerts per year throughout Canada and the U.S. The group has produced and released 10 CDs, including two with all Hawaiian music.
