Local boy chef comes home

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa has a new chef de cuisine: Kenneth Lum is leading the crew at Tidepools, their open-air restaurant at the resort in Po'ipu.

Born and raised on O'ahu, and trained at Kapi'olani Community College, Lum has worked at La Mer at Halekulani, Emeril restaurant in Las Vegas and Chef Mavro here in Honolulu. He is returning from Las Vegas to take this position.
