Western horse show in Waimanalo on July 21

The Hawaii Horse Show Association will host its first Western horse show of the season on July 21 at Circle C Ranch, 41-539 Makakalo St., Waimanalo. The show is free and open to the public.

A range of competitive classes will be on display, including Western Pleasure, Reining Seat Equitation, Trail Class, Reining Horse, Pole Bending and Barrels. Classes start at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day, ending with the Pole Bending and Barrels classes.

Competitors will dress in colorful Western show gear as they maneuver through courses and equitation classes that will challenge both horse and rider.

This show is classified as a United States Equestrian Federation Local Competition. The official guest judge is Patty Felker. Felker is a certified judge who is known throughout the equestrian show circuit.

Directions to the Circle C Ranch:

From Kalanianaole Highway at Waimanalo Town Shopping Center, turn on Poalima Street at the stop light.

Turn right onto Mokuluma. Circle C Ranch is on the left.
