City testing sirens at McKinley High, Moanalua Valley

Honolulu officials will be testing newly installed siren warning systems at McKinley High School and Moanalua Valley between 8 and 10 a.m. today.Residents in those areas can expect to hear several 20-second siren soundings during the testing period, said Peter Hirai of the city's Department of Emergency Management.
The McKinley and Moanalua Valley sirens represent the last of the city system upgrades planned in 2004.
State Civil Defense money paid for the purchase and installation of the new sirens.
