Advertiser Staff

Japan's NTT DoCoMo Inc. plans to construct a third-generation mobile phone network in Hawaii jointly with AT&T Mobility LLC, according to a report published by the Japanese news agency Jiji Press.

New services based on the network will begin on the island of Oahu by the end of this year, expanding the coverage to the rest of the state by early next year, according to the report.

DoCoMo will spend up to 24 million dollars on the project to enhance its services in the major destination for Japanese tourists, Jiji reported.
