U.S. Open Synchronized Swimming at CORP

 •  Solitary trail offers bit of scenery with serenity

The 2007 U.S. Open Synchronized Swimming Championships will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Aquatic Complex at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

The competition, which is hosted by the Hawai'i Synchro Club, runs from July 15 to July 21.

The international event is attracting more than 600 elite athletes.

Athletes will vie for titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events in both junior and senior divisions.

Junior finals will be July 18 at 11:15 a.m. Senior finals will be July 21 at 10 a.m.

Admission to the event is $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students. Children under the age of 10 are free.

BOXING

AMATEUR BOUTS SET

There will be an amateur boxing show July 21 at the Palolo District Park Gym at 6 p.m.

Admission is $10, and seven to 10 bouts are scheduled.

POLO

CLUBS TO MEET AGAIN

The Maui and Hawai'i Polo clubs will meet Sunday in a renewal of a long-standing rivalry for the United States Polo Association's Governor's Cup at the Mokule'ia Polo Fields.

Gates open at 11 a.m. and the match will begin at 2 p.m. Admission is $8. For more information, call 637-8401.
