Former UH quarterback Chang plays for Tiger-Cats

Advertiser Staff

Former University of Hawai'i quarterback Tim Chang came off the bench for the third straight game and nearly rallied the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to a Canadian Football League victory Saturday night.

Chang completed 4 of 11 passes for 92 yards and one touchdown, but visiting Montreal held on for a 29-20 victory.

Hamilton trailed 26-10 when Tiger-Cats coach Charlie Taaffe benched starter Jason Maas.

Chang threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to Brock Ralph early in the fourth quarter, then drove the Tiger-Cats to Nick Setta's 27-yard field goal with a little more than five minutes to play.

After forcing a punt, Hamilton took over at its 28 with 1:33 remaining. Chang completed a pass for no gain, then threw two incompletions as the Tiger-Cats (0-3) ceded possession. Damon Duval's 26-yard field goal with 49 seconds left clinched it for the Alouettes (1-2).
