Two Oahu women to face meth charges on Tuesday

By Rod Ohira

A preliminary hearing for two women accused of first-degree meth trafficking is scheduled Tuesday in District Court.

Charlene Leiola Yim, 60, of 'Ewa Beach, and Denzie H. Thomas, 44, of 'Ahuimanu, were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly accepted delivery of a drug shipment from out of state at Thomas' Hui Alala Street home.

Police had intercepted the package and set up the controlled-delivery operation, according to Narcotics/Vice Division Capt. Kerry Inouye.

The shipment allegedly contained about one pound of methamphetamine.

Yim and Thomas were charged Friday. They are being held in lieu of $30,000 bail each at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center, pending Tuesday's preliminary hearing.
