Advertiser Staff

A 19-month-old girl was in serious condition and six others injured in a head-on collision near Waimanalo Beach Park this afternoon.

The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on Kalaniana'ole Highway near the beach park. The cars collided head-on and one of the vehicles rolled over, said Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

The driver of the overturned car, a 34-year-old woman, and her 9-year-old daughter were able to get out of the vehicle. The 19-month-old girl in the back seat of the vehicle was seriously injured, and all three were taken to The Queen's Medical Center for treatment.

Cheplic said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, four people — two women and two 3-year-old girls — in the other vehicle were taken to Castle Medical Center in stable condition.
