Strong quake rattles Vanuatu in South Pacific

A very strong earthquake rocked the area around Vanuatu in the South Pacific last light.The temblor, which occurred about 11:30 Saturday night Hawaii time, was assigned a preliminary magnitude of 6.3.
There was no immediate report of injuries or damage resulting from the quake.
