More sun than rain expected across Hawaii

Moderate trade winds are expected today, probably spreading showers along the windward shores of most islands and carrying the wet stuff leeward more often than usual, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain will be light for the most part and will likely continue through the first half of the new week, forecasters said.

Here's a look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today, mostly sunny. Scattered showers in the morning. Highs 82 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows 67 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Monday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 82 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday night, mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the evening, then partly cloudy with isolated showers after midnight. Lows 66 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tuesday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 81 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday night, mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the evening, then partly cloudy with isolated showers after midnight. Lows 66 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
