LITTER BUGS MAUI — Community Work Day is coordinating Litter Bugs Me cleanups at harbors, parks, historic sites, beaches and other spots around Maui, 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. Trash bags and gloves provided; call (808) 877-2524.

SIERRA CLUB BEER NIGHT — Hear presentations on timely environmental topics and learn how to get involved, 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the following evenings, Cassis at 66 Queen St.: July 25, outings and service projects with Randy Ching; Aug. 22, global warming update with Jeff Mikulina; Sept. 26, curbside recycling with Betty Gearan.

KANE'OHE WETLAND PROJECT — Volunteers needed Aug. 11 to help the Sierra Club clear mangrove to create habitat for endangered water birds at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Because the base is a secured military facility, volunteers must provide name and Social Security number in advance and bring a signed waiver. Call Deborah Blair, 955-4168.

POUHALA MARSH RESTORATION — The Hawai'i Nature Center is restoring Pouhala Marsh in Waipahu. Volunteers are needed to pull pickleweed and mangrove 8:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 18.
