Western horse show in Waimanalo on Saturday

The Hawaii Horse Show Association will host its first Western horse show of the season on Saturday, July 21 at Circle C Ranch, 41-539 Makakalo St., Waimanalo.

Admission is free and spectators will enjoy a range of competitive classes that include Western Pleasure, Reining Seat Equitation, Trail Class, Reining Horse, Pole Bending and Barrels.

Competitors will dress in colorful, flashy Western show gear as they maneuver through courses and equitation classes that will challenge both horse and rider. Classes will start at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the day, ending with the Pole Bending and Barrels classes.

This show is classified as a United States Equestrian Federation Local Competition. The official guest judge is Patty Felker. Felker is a certified judge who is known throughout the equestrian show circuit.

Directions to the Circle C Ranch:

From Kalanianaole Highway at Waimanalo Town Shopping Center, turn on Poalima Street at the stop light.

Turn right onto Mokuluma. Circle C Ranch is half way up the block on the left.
