Kapiolani water main fixed, traffic contraflowed

The Board of Water Supply has completed repairs to a 12-inch main that broke on Kapiolani Boulevard late last night and is hoping to have the boulevard open for the morning rush hour traffic.Two buildings were left without water from 10:10 p.m. until about 4:30 this morning, but no homes were affected.
Traffic was being contraflowed between Kaheka and Keeaumoku streets and also from the Ala Moana Center Keeaaumoku/Kapiolani exit ramp.
