About 20 businesses had water service restored at 1:30 p.m. today after a 6-inch water main broke on Queen Street between Ward Avenue and Cummins Street.

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply had provided a water wagon at 970 Queen St. for the affected water customers.

The break was reported at 6:15 this morning.

"We very rarely know what causes our breaks," said Su Shin, spokeswoman for the Board of Water Supply. Mainly it's because they're old."

Queen Street was reopened at 5:45 p.m.
