The Seattle swingman had several highlight-reel plays last night to break out of an event-long shooting slump, but it wasn't enough as the SuperSonics finished winless in the summer league with an 84-78 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Durant had 28 points on 9-of-18 shooting in what was supposed to be a matchup of the two top picks from last month's draft. However, Portland center Greg Oden left last Sunday after two games to have a tonsillectomy.

"It would have been fun to play against him," Durant said. "There would have been a lot more people here, I guess."

Durant struggled to find his touch throughout most of the event and missed a game to attend the taping of the ESPY awards, but was still named to the 14-member all-tournament team. He averaged 23.7 points in four contests, including 32 against Golden State on Friday.

"I wouldn't say that this was my best game, but I got better," Durant said.

The 6-foot-9, 215-pound forward had a pair of dunks that brought the fans to their feet at the Cox Pavilion as he was obviously more comfortable. He was 18-of-56 from the field entering the game.

"He's a very special player that has a lot of skills," Seattle summer coach Ralph Lewis. "Playing games is on the job training and he is growing as a player and we are growing as a team."

Seattle (0-5) trailed by double digits in the second half, but rallied to take a lead in the fourth quarter. Durant and fifth overall pick Jeff Green led the charge, but Portland (2-3) scored seven of the game's last nine points for the win.

Durant was more confident offensively, especially in the comeback, but said losing overshadows any personal achievements.

"That is the ultimate goal, to get a win," he said. "We are just working the kinks out as a team."

Green scored 32 points to lead the Sonics.

"He was a horse. We killed them out there today," Durant said.

Oden was in constant foul trouble in his two games. League rules allow for 10 personals before disqualification, and Oden was limited to six points and two rebounds in 20 minutes before fouling out against the Boston Celtics in his debut.
