Roadwork on Ala Wai, Nimitz to slow traffic this week

Ala Wai Boulevard roadwork this week

City crews will be reconstructing utility manholes, concrete curbs, gutters and driveways this week on Ala Wai Boulevard from Kapahulu Avenue to Kanekapolei Street.

Work will be done between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Crews will also be reconstructing and resurfacing asphalt roadways and installing new pavement markers and vehicle loop sensors.

There may be partial lane closures.

This project is expected to be completed by September.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and allow for extra travel time.

Nimitz having daily westbound lane closures

One or two westbound lanes may be closed along Nimitz Highway this week, as state crews do trenching work for traffic signal system improvements.

Work will be done between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Single lane closures on Pacific Street may also be implemented in either direction during these hours.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and allow for extra travel time.
