Kaneko tied for second at Betsy Rawls girls tourney

Sacred Hearts senior Ayaka Kaneko shot a 1-under-par 70 today and is tied for second, one stroke behind Diane Kwon of Fremont, Calif., after the first round of the McDonald's Betsy Rawls Girls Championship at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.

Kaneko is tied with Vicky Hurst of Melbourne, Fla.

The tournament, a 54-hole event, is conducted by the American Junior Golf Association. The 78-player field features players from 21 states, Canada and Peru.
