HPD officer will receive bronze merit medal tomorrow

Officer Louise Akina will be honored tomorrow by the Honolulu Police Department for preventing a person from jumping from an apartment building in January.Chief Boisse Correa will award Akina with a Warrior Bronze Medal of Merit in ceremonies at the main station at 9:30 a.m. Akina is assigned to the Kalihi patrol district.
Correa will also present a Certificate of Merit to a civilian for assisting officers in capturing a robbery suspect.
