Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said it was awarded a five-year, $29 million contract to provide civil/infrastructure and environmental consulting to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Pacific Rim. Some of the work will be performed in Hawai'i.

The Pasadena, Calif.-based company said it will help out primarily in emergency or rapid-response situations where humanitarian assistance is needed.

"We are delighted to be expanding our U.S. Army Corps of Engineers support into South Korea, Japan, Hawaii, and beyond-contributing to both traditional infrastructure and emergency response needs wherever the Corps needs assistance," said Jacobs President and CEO Craig Martin in a press statement.
