Local tech firm in mentor deal with Lockheed Martin

Referentia Systems Inc., a Honolulu-based information-technology company that has contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and companies, will receive help from Lockheed Martin in developing technologies, advancing business processes and pursuing opportunities under a three-year mentor-protege agreement.

The program is part of a Department of Defense initiative that encourages large companies to share expertise and government contracting knowledge with minority and women-owned small businesses.

"The Mentor-Protege Program is a tremendous opportunity for our company and the state of Hawaii," stated Nelson Kanemoto, Referentia president and CEO, in a news statement. "We are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership."

Referentia maintains staff throughout Hawaii, the Mainland and overseas.

The firm helps government and corporate customers with complex and critical problems through the use of its technology, science and engineering expertise. Referentia is currently responsible for on-site support at military installations around the world including sites in Japan, Italy, Greece and Hawaii.
