Potter-mania materializes at libraries

Six Oahu public libraries will toast "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" (due out on Saturday), with these free themed events:i 6:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. today, Mililani Public Library: "Harry
Potter Book 7 Celebration" and "The Magic of Reading with Uncle Wayne and Magic Mark." Uncle Wayne and Magic Mark Kroll will combine magic, puppetry, comedy, and audience participation to explore topics such as decision–making, reading, self–esteem and safety issues. Suitable for ages 5 and up; 627–7470.
i 10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Kalihi–Palama Public Library: "Harry Potter and the End . . . A Celebration of Reading for Children of All Ages": auditorium "The Magic of Reading with Magic Mark," Magician Mark Kroll will weave magic, comedy and puppetry. (At 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., two events run simultaneously: two "Mystery Movies" based on J. K. Rowling novels, rated PG and PG–13, will be shown in auditorium; in the Main Reading Room will be a variety of Harry Potter make–it–and–take–it crafts; 832–3466.

Children's Room, "Harry Potter Book 7 Celebration." Children ages 5 and older are invited to come in costume as a Hogwarts character or as a Muggle, with games and crafts such as making a wand or creating a creature. Librarians are scheduled to read aloud selections from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and there will be a lucky drawing for a free copy of Book 7; 586–3510 .
