Truck goes off cliff on Maui; no injuries

A 22-year-old Maui man escaped serious injury today after his pickup truck went off Kahekili Highway near Waiolai Gulch and fell 200 feet.Maui County spokeswoman Mahina Martin said the driver managed to crawl out of the truck to safety. The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m.
Fire rescue personnel rappelled down the cliff and brought the man to safety at 4:34 a.m. The man suffered minor injuries and refused transport to Maui Medical Center, said Martin.
