Accident closes H-1 westbound airport offramp

Police tonight closed the H-1 Freeway westbound airport offramp due to a motor vehicle crash with critical injuries.

The roadway was closed at 7:52 p.m.

Police vehicular homicide officers are investigating the accident involving one vehicle.

With the viaduct closed, westbound traffic was being diverted from the H-1 Freeway to Kamehameha Highway All westbound traffic from Dillingham Boulevard and makai-bound traffic from Middle Street was being diverted under the viaduct.

A 28-year-old woman suffered critical injuries and was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, according to Honolulu emergency services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

A man in the vehicle also was taken to Queen's. His condition was not immediately known.
