A 20-year-old Kalihi man was charged today in a federal complaint with last Friday's robbery of the Bank of Hawaii's Kalihi branch.

George C. Aquiningoc Jr., of a Gulick Avenue address, is charged with handing a teller a demand note stating "give all your money or I'll blow your (expletive) brains out" and robbing the bank at 1950 North King St. of $9,787.

He will be turned over to the FBI tomorrow by Honolulu police. Aquiningoc has been at the main police station cellblock since 1:15 p.m. Tuesday when he surrendered to a Kalihi Crime Reduction Unit officer.

According to the complaint, police identified Aquiningoc as a suspect from a Honolulu CrimeStoppers tip and "confidential source" information.

Aquiningoc allegedly told the confidential source he robbed the bank because "he owed someone money," according to the complaint.
