Rock band Brand New coming to Honolulu on Sept. 25

Deep-thinking rockers Brand New are Honolulu-bound for a Pipeline Cafe show on Sept. 25.Advance ticket sales, through independent ticket-purchase Web site www.ducatking.com, will begin Friday at noon. General ticket sales begin Aug. 8 online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 877-750-4400 and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
Tickets are $27 each.
Doors open at 7 p.m.; the concert begins at 8 p.m.
The Long Island, N.Y., band's most recent CD is last year's "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me," which showcased the sardonic pop-punk rockers taking a more emotionally tormented and introspective musical route. Honolulu Advertiser entertainment writer Derek Paiva ranked the disc No. 7 on his year-end list of the 10 best albums of 2006 calling it "an urgent blast of alternately reverent and blasphemous soul-searching (with) passion-filled lyricism and exhilarating sonic experimentation."
