Hawai'i jobless benefit claims up in July from year ago

Advertiser Staff

The number of Hawaii residents filing first-time claims for unemployment benefits rose to 1,200 for the week ending July 7, up from 1,100 during the same week last year.

Still, the number of claims filed by Hawaii residents was among the lowest in the country. Only Montana, Maine, Vermont, South Dakota, Wyoming and Washington D.C., had fewer claims filed.
