Business alums establish two $50,000 scholarships

Advertiser Staff

Two new $50,000 endowed scholarships have been established at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Shidler College of Business by two of the school's alumni. Together with matching funds from Jay Shidler's $25 million gift last year, each scholarship endowment totals $50,000.

Director and Professor of the School of Accountancy Jenny Teruya and her husband Alfred established the Master's of Accounting Endowed Scholarship Fund to support students who have the potential to achieve a master's degree in the accounting field, but lack financial means.

The second scholarship was established by Stuart Matsuda and his wife Michelle. The Todd Kiyo Matsuda Endowed Scholarship is in honor of Stuart's younger brother, Todd Kiyo Matsuda, who passed away in 1980.
