Police seeking man in elderly break-in case

Advertiser Staff

Police are looking for a 25-year-old man who allegedly broke into the homes of two elderly women, then punched a police officer in the face before escaping.

At 7:20 a.m. the man allegedly broke into the home of a 76-year-old woman, who confronted him and forced him to flee.

The man then broke into the home of a 77-year-old woman who lives nearby and took money from her, police said.

A patrol officer responding to the second woman's home confronted the man, who was trying to run out of the house.

The man allegedly punched the officer in the face and escaped, police said.

The man is wanted on suspicion of first-degree burglary, unlawful entry into a home, and first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
