New SBA loans will aid military

First Hawaiian Bank has been approved as the first Hawai'i financial institution to provide loans under the U.S. Small Business Administration's Patriot Express Loan program.
The pilot program is available to veterans, active-duty service members eligible for the military's Transition Assistance Program, reservists and National Guard members, and spouses and widowed spouses of service members or veterans who died while in service or of a service-related disability.
The loans of up to $500,000 can be used for most business purposes, including startup, expansion, equipment purchases, working capital, or inventory or business-occupied real estate purchases.

KAHALA TRAINING CENTER OPENS
Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has opened its new Education and Development Center, which will provide new and experienced real estate agents with a state-of-the-art training facility.
The new 2,500-square-foot center in Kahala will be home to a training program founded in 1999 by Tracy Bradley, Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties' regional vice president of sales. The program offers hands-on training and personal coaching from some of the top real estate professionals in the state. All program participants must hold an active real estate license in Hawai'i. Some of the courses include personal business planning, financing, marketing techniques, open house skills, and managing buyers and sellers.
