Limtiaco wins PRSA top award

The Limtiaco Company took the Best of Show Award in this year's Koa Anvil and Hammer Awards for public relations professionals. The Limtiaco Company was cited for its work on the Aloha Festivals 60th anniversary campaign.

A total of 50 Koa Anvil and Hammer awards were presented last night by the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America at a dinner at the Halekulani Hotel.

PRSA's Hall of Honor award was presented to Mark Zeug for serving as an "exemplary public relations leader throughout his career."

McNeil Wilson Communications was the recipient of the first President's Leadership Award. In honor of PRSA's recognition and MWC's 25th anniversary this year, MWC will endow a scholarship with $35,000 at the University of Hawai'i.

The Gregg W. Perry Public Relations Professional of the Year award was presented to Sara Foley of the firm Maui Communicators. She has been working in public relations for more than 35 years.

The Hokupa'a award winner for an outstanding practitioner with less than five years experience went to Rebecca Pang, account executive at Stryker Weiner & Yokota Public Relations, Inc.

The Roy Leffingwell Scholarship of $1,000 was awarded to Nalea J. Ko, a senior at UH majoring in journalism.
