The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has awarded the Hawaiian-culture-based educational center Na Pua No'eau a $275,000 grant for a Hawaiian youth leadership program called 'Aha 'Opio Alaka'i.

It's a three-year program for high school students of Hawaiian ancestry designed to teach them how to take a role in improving conditions for Native Hawaiians and Hawai'i.

Na Pua No'eau is headquartered at the University of Hawai'i-Hilo.
