WAIMEA
Rockfall work on cliffside pau

Advertiser Staff

Rockfall mitigation work along the Waimea Bay cliffside was completed yesterday, but the state Department of Transportation advises motorists to beware of heavy vehicles hauling away rocks and debris today and tomorrow.

Contractors spent yesterday dismantling and moving heavy equipment, which was needed to bring down loose rocks and material from cliffs along Kamehameha Highway.

Meanwhile, an Oregon man injured Monday in a work-related accident at the site was in stable condition at The Queen's Medical Center, according to his employer, Hi-Tech Rockfall Construction.
