Keiki Hula Competition winners announced

The Queen Lili'uokalani Keiki Hula Competition wrapped up today at the Blaisdell Arena, with performances in the hula 'auana (or modern) category.The winning groups were:
i Boys: Halau Kekuaokala'au'ala'iliahi, of Wailuku, Maui, under the direction of kumu hula Brandon and Haunani Paredes.
i Girls: Halau 'O Kamuela, of Honolulu, under the direction of Kau'ionalani Kamana'o.
The competition started Friday, with performances in the kahiko (or ancient) division. The winners were:
i Boys: Halau Kekuaokala'au'ala'iliahi, of Wailuku
i Girls: Halau Mohala 'Ilima, of Kailua, under the direction of kumu hula Mapuana DeSilva.
