Downed pole closes part of Lualualei Homestead Road; man injured

Hawaiian Electric Co. crews are still at Lualualei Homestead Road replacing a power pole hit by a car early this morning.One man in the car was taken by EMS personnel to a hospital. His condition was not known.
No homes lost power because of the accident.
Replacing the pole will take about eight hours, HECO said. The work is expected to be completed by nightfall.
Part of the road is still closed.
The accident occurred at 5:30 a.m. between Hale Elua Street and Hale Ekahi Drive, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
