UH QB Brennan picked for WAC preseason honor

Hawai'i picked to win WACHawai'i quarterback Colt Brennan was voted the preseason Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in the row in a poll of media who cover the league.
Hawai'i also was picked to win the WAC football championship in polls of the conference's coaches and media. Both were announced this morning at the WAC media preview meeting in San Jose, Calif.
Brennan, a senior from Irvine, Calif., set several NCAA records over the past two years. Last season, he completed 406 of 559 passes for 5,549 yards and 58 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 366 yards and five scores. Brennan set NCAA single-season records with with the 58 touchdown passes and an efficiency rating of 186.0.
San Jose defensive back Dwight Lowery, a senior from Santa Cruz, Calif., was named WAC preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
