The United Chinese Society of Hawaii, sponsor of the Miss Chinatown Hawaii Pageant, is seeking contestants for the 30th Annual Miss Chinatown Hawaii Pageant.
The pageant will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Hawaii Theatre.
The women are trained in Chinese history and culture, make-up, beauty & poise, physical fitness, interviewing and personal development.
Qualified contestants are eligible to win valuable prizes including cash, tuition scholarships, a trip to the Orient and many other prizes. Last year, Hawaii Pacific University awarded scholarships to three women who participated in the pageant.
In addition, the winner of the Miss Chinatown Hawaii Pageant advances to compete in the 2008 Miss Chinatown USA pageant in San Francisco.
