Damien school receives portion of $100K endowment

Advertiser Staff

The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation today gave Damien Memorial School the first installment of a $100,000 endowment.

Greg Sitar, a First Hawaiian Bank vice president and a 1978 Damien graduate, presented the first of four payments to Bernard Ho, the newly installed interim president and CEO of Damien. Sitar is a former chairman of the school's board of directors.

Ho said the endowment — one of the largest the school has received in years — will be put toward capital improvements and curriculum development on the 45-year-old Kalihi campus.

Ho is the former executive vice president of HMSA.
