Damien school receives portion of $100K endowment

The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation today gave Damien Memorial School the first installment of a $100,000 endowment.Greg Sitar, a First Hawaiian Bank vice president and a 1978 Damien graduate, presented the first of four payments to Bernard Ho, the newly installed interim president and CEO of Damien. Sitar is a former chairman of the school's board of directors.
Ho said the endowment one of the largest the school has received in years will be put toward capital improvements and curriculum development on the 45-year-old Kalihi campus.
Ho is the former executive vice president of HMSA.
