In recognition of its 25th anniversary, McNeil Wilson Communications Inc. has established an endowed scholarship fund for the School of Communications at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa.The firm's founding partners David McNeil and David Wilson presented the University of Hawai'i Foundation with a gift of $35,000 to provide scholarships for students majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations.
The first scholarship will be awarded during the next school years.
"My partner and I and our firm as a whole are extremely grateful to the University of Hawai'i for its focus on preparing students who enter our profession," Wilson said in a news release. "We've always enjoyed a strong relationship with Hawai'i's flagship campus and this endowment is a measure of our gratitude."
Both McNeil and Wilson have frequently served as guest lecturers at UH, and McNeil has also been a longtime member of the Advisory Council for the School of Travel Industry Management.
Many of the firm's staff members are UH graduates.
