Man accused of sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl

A 31-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl who is a family member.On July 1, the girl told another family member that the man had sexually assaulted her, police said. The family member went to police and a first-degree sexual assault investigation was initiated.
Yesterday at 12:01 a.m., the 31-year-old man surrendered at the Kailua police station and was arrested on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault and a contempt of court warrant.
